TIPS FOR NEW PARENTS DURING BABY SAFETY.

Hey New Parents!!  Congratulations your new baby. You're going to be a great parent, and we'll be right here with you so you're not alone. It's a perfect time for these baby safety tips.

1.Before putting your baby down for a nap or for the night, remember that a firm mattress and fitted sheet are all you need for your baby’s crib. Remove blankets and toys from the crib and use a sleep sack on colder nights.

2.Anti-tip furniture straps are a relatively new addition to the baby proofing products world. With the growing popularity of big screen TV's there is an increasing incidence of injuries of babies and small children being trapped or seriously harmed by the weight of televisions or other heavy furniture. Tall dressers, changing tables and other furniture should be strapped securely to prevent accidents.

3.Baby safety cabinet locks will help keep your little ones out of a lot of places they shouldn't get into including cupboards and drawers. As your baby starts crawling and getting more mobile the allure of what's inside all those closed off doors is irresistible to some children so it's important to make sure they are locked up.

4.Install working smoke alarm AND a carbon monoxide alarm on every level of your home, and in all sleeping areas. This is an important tip for not just baby safety, but family safety as well. And please test the alarms regularly to make sure they work.

5.An electrical outlet safety cover is a potentially life saving device that will help in the quest to baby proof outlets throughout your home. Electricity is all around us and we often take it for granted including the dangers that it presents to our loved ones. In a baby's world where everything is fun and games it is the parents responsibility to do everything we can to keep them safe.

6. Window safety locks will help prevent your baby or child from accident falls that could cause injury or worse. All little ones are curious by nature and the allure of what's outside can be irresistible for some children and while doors are locked they may look for a way outside through a convenient window.

7. when parents are nearby watching a baby in a walker, they often can’t react quickly enough to prevent injury. Since a walker has wheels, children are able to propel themselves more than three feet in one second and reach higher than if they were standing on the floor, This could result in dangerous situations, as babies can quickly fall down steps or may be able to reach hot or dangerous items on a table or counter.

8.Baby Safety Gates is the most common device parents use and they have been around for decades. A gate will keep your baby out of dangerous areas of your home including stairways, kitchens and laundry rooms. There is a size of gate made for just about any application so you can be sure to find something that gets the job done.

9.Table edges are hard and often have sharp angles that can cause injuries to small children. A common injury among small children are cuts and abrasions from sharp table edges. Since tables are often at a level where babies can get injures it's a good idea to add cushioning wherever possible to prevent minor injuries.

10.A nursery care kit or baby first aid kit is essential for newborns and comes with everything you need for at home and while travelling. The handy package usually includes items for grooming and daily care. In addition it includes devices for administering medication to a sick baby.
